Coming Up At CDE!
Full Circle Festival is seeking individual artists and companies working in dance, physical theater, dance theater, and devised theater who are interested in developing and creating a new 30-50-minute work to be presented May 7-23, 2027. We will choose six artists/companies to form a cohort to present work that goes beyond the concert/festival's shorter-length works into artistic storytelling. Each group will have the opportunity to perform one time, each weekend at the same time slot. Full Circle will be part festival and part residency program that will help the cohort members with support in producing, creating, and marketing. The Full Circle Festival cohort members will be required to attend a virtual one-hour meet-up based on participants' schedules in October, a January Marketing 101 workshop, and a March show-and-share day.
Deadline: August 26, 2026

Why is CDE doing this Festival with this approach? Because producing is hard, and working together with others and having a supportive environment and group of people to ask questions, get feedback from, and work together makes the process easier. We also know that many groups and artists create work for festivals, and it is often under 15 minutes. Producing a full-length work is expensive. We know that once you create a longer work, you can tour it, take it to a fringe festival, and further develop it. Lastly, we are here to support artists!

“In many ways, CDE is a stunning example of what a small storefront theatre company’s mission should be. Efforts to tell these often ignored stories and to share them with the community is noticeable and admirable - makes buying a ticket feel as much about supporting social justice as buying entertainment.”
