Modern Archaic Theatre Company: The Bacchae
FRIDAYS-SUNDAYS
July 31- August 9, 7:00 house, 7:30 Performance
$15-35

Summary
Fifteen years after a nuclear war destroyed life as we know it, a group of survivors restart society from one of the earliest civilizations they think to imitate: Ancient Greece.

As the Nuclear Winter dissipates, in the midst of their slow rebuilding of a new world, an invading force called The Bacchae reveal themselves to the scrappy and unstable group, claiming to worship a new god called Dionysus.

Soon after this cult reveals themselves, the women of this new civilization are struck with a mysterious affliction compelling them to join in the revels of The Bacchae. The remaining men are forced to make a decision: War with this new god or Embrace him.

Pentheus, New King of Thebes, finds himself in the trap of a strange man claiming to have some connection to the god. As the young King tries to jail the crazed women and bring order, to take down Dionysus and his cohort, his own curiosity, aggression, and madness take over.
