As Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble approaches its 20th Anniversary, we reflect on how far we have come, and how far we still have to go. Not only do we produce a full season of contemporary performances, but we have one of the most well-integrated arts education programs in Chicago, serving nearly 5,000 elementary school students.
The work we do is impossible through ticket sales alone. This year, we have created some fundraising goals that will propel us forward into the future, so that Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble can continue to create change in the world, "One Voice, One Story, One Person at a Time."
Our 2020 Fundraising Goals include: Receiving $20 donations from 20 people Having 20 new donors One volunteer to donate 20 hours of time And much, much more!
Performance The true cost of each performance, per night, is $2,135. If we relied solely on ticket sales to pay for a production, we would have to charge $45 per ticket, instead of our average of $15 to $20. Your support helps us reduce ticket prices by approximately 60%, making shows accessible to a wider audience. You also allow us to provide free admission to high-school students to all shows!
Arts Education The full cost for CDE to provide a 20-week session at a new school is $1,560. This includes
Background check for a new teacher ($60)
Supplies, including books, art supplies, props, and other materials ($100)
Curriculum development and school-based supervisor ($200)
Teaching artist stipend ($1,200)
Our arts education program costs $450 per student per year.
Your support can help us provide more classes to more children. You can help CDE expand our early-childhood program (pre-K to 2nd grade) into 20 schools by the 2020-2021 school year, specifically in schools that
Are not able to meet the goals of Chicago Public School’s arts education plan.
